Understanding Liquid Vitamin Absorption

With all the recent buzz about liquid vitamins many have found themselves wondering whether or not a liquid vitamin are really better than their tablet form counterpart. Based on some research, it appears as though the best liquid vitamins are absorbed into the bloodstream an average of 3-10 times faster than tablet form, making them more “body ready,” versus the average of 20-30% absorption that you usually get from a tablet. In order for you to better understand this process, it may help for you to understand a little more about the absorption process and how your body uses food.

Understanding Absorption

Absorption is the process by which the end products of digestion are taken up by the lymphatic and circulatory system of your body for eventual distribution to cells of the body. Lymph vessels infiltrate and transport absorbed nutrients towars the major branches of the lymphatic and circulatory systems. The nutrient rich contents of the lymphatic system are then transferred to the bloodstream at a site near the heart where vessels from both systems merge into one vessel.

Although your body may look the same from day to day, you actually are quite different from what you were a month ago. Substances that make up the organs and tissues in your body are always changing – they are in a continuous state of renewal. Tissues, bones, the heart, blood vessels, nerves – all of the parts of the body made up by tiny cells are constantly being renewed. The materials that are used to renew your body are the nutrients that are consumed from foods.
